In short, the NioX Card is a prepaid Mastercard you load from your trading balance, spending only what you have already placed on it, and the sections that follow set out how it is issued, where it works, what it costs, and how a payment that goes wrong is handled.
1The card and the parties
The NioX Card is a prepaid Mastercard tied to a NioX account that has cleared verification. The issuer named on your account supplies it under a licence granted by Mastercard International, and Mastercard stays a registered trademark of Mastercard International Incorporated.
Read these terms alongside the terms of service rather than in place of them. Should the two ever disagree on any matter to do with the card, what you read here takes priority.
2Eligibility and issuance
A card goes only to an account holder who has finished verification, who is eighteen or older, who has passed a check on their home address, and who lives somewhere the card programme is offered.
Once you win approval, a virtual card shows up right away inside the mobile application. A physical card travels to the address held on your record and stays dormant until you activate it.
3Card balance
Money on the card is prepaid electronic money that you load by moving funds across from your trading balance. It sits outside the banking system, so it counts as no bank deposit, it pays nothing back, and no deposit guarantee scheme stands behind it.
A payment clears only when the card balance already holds enough to meet both the amount and any fee that rides with it. The card carries no line of credit and no overdraft.
Whenever you like, you can send money the other way and return it from the card balance to your trading balance.
4Using the card
You can pay with the card anywhere Mastercard is taken, so long as you stay inside the limits shown in your account and steer clear of any merchant category the programme holds back.
Guard the card itself, the card number and the personal identification number, and never let another person put them to use. Tell NioX at once if the card goes missing, is taken, or looks to have been used without your say so.
The mobile application lets you freeze the card and lift that freeze again. While it sits frozen the card turns down every payment until you release it.
5Limits
Unless your account shows a figure of its own, the limits set out below are the ones that apply.
| Limit | Amount |
|---|---|
| Maximum card balance | 25,000.00 USDT |
| Monthly spend | 10,000.00 USDT |
| Daily cash withdrawal at an automated teller machine | 1,000.00 USDT |
| Single transaction | 5,000.00 USDT |
Any limit can be looked at afresh when the pattern of activity on the account shifts or when a rule demands it. Before a limit comes down you get notice first, except where the situation calls for us to act at once.
6Fees and currency conversion
You will find the card fees laid out in the fee schedule. When you spend in a currency that differs from the card currency, the card scheme converts the amount at the rate it holds when settlement happens, and the foreign currency fee named in the fee schedule then falls on that converted figure.
Sometimes a merchant offers, right at the till, to turn the payment into the card currency for you, and where it does so it may set a rate of its own. That rate belongs to the merchant and sits outside anything NioX governs.
7Disputed and unauthorised transactions
If you catch a payment that was never authorised or that ran incorrectly, let NioX know promptly, and in no case later than thirteen months after the debit landed.
Once a payment is confirmed to have been unauthorised, we hand the amount back and put the balance where it would otherwise have stood, unless you acted dishonestly, showed gross negligence, or let your credentials fall into the wrong hands.
When your quarrel over a payment lies with a merchant, take it up with that merchant before anything else. If the matter stays unsettled, the rules of the card scheme may open the door to a chargeback, and NioX will pursue one for you wherever those rules allow.
8Suspension and cancellation
We may put the card on hold or close it where a fair reading of the facts points to unauthorised or fraudulent use, where a legal or regulatory duty leaves us no choice, or where these terms are broken. Wherever we can, you hear from us before the card is suspended, and where that is not possible you hear from us straight afterwards.
Closing the card is something you can do yourself at any moment from your account. Once it closes, whatever remains on the card balance moves back to your trading balance as soon as any payment still in flight has settled.
9Liability
NioX carries no liability when a merchant chooses not to take the card, nor when a payment fails for some cause that lies beyond our reasonable control.
None of these terms trims back or removes liability for fraud, for fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else the law does not permit to be excluded or limited.
10Changes and notices
We may revise these terms from time to time. When a change carries real weight, you receive notice of it before it takes effect. Keep using the card once the change is in force and you are treated as having accepted it. Any notice reaches you at the email address held on your account.
